Ubiqam In-Band Backhaul

The Ubiqam solution is a wireless device co-located with a small-scale (Pico or Femto) base-station. This device transports all the base-station's backhaul traffic over an efficient wireless link to a standard (Macro) base-station with no need for any HW or SW modification at the Macro-BTS site. The solution's form factor ranges from a stand-alone unit to an integrated module or chip-set if space, power and cost efficiencies are needed.

Enabling broadband mobile user experience:

• Coverage - Provide service in locations (in-building, underground, cell-edge, etc.) where the Macro network has limited coverage.
• Throughput – Increase throughput (bit rate) available to the broadband mobile user.
• Capacity – Increase (up 3X) overall capacity available to the Macro-cell by spectrum efficiency enhancement through offloading low efficiency (low bit/Hz) subscribers and transporting their traffic over highly efficient in-band backhaul link.
